Got hit by a car...

my bike did not appreciate it.

whenever I hear about people getting hit while riding their bikes I am always thinking "How in the World??"
Now I know.
blind corner + bad timing = smushed wheel
It wasnt that bad, I got a bruise on my shin but all and all it was a pretty good laugh. the lady that hit me kept saying "You must be in shock" because all I could do was laugh and laugh and laugh.

valentine for christmas

My parents surprised me with this typewriter for christmas.
The Olivetti Valentine was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1970.
I love it, even though I live on an island and couldn't bring it with me. Someday I will live in a cute house with a desk of my own and I will put this beauty front and center.

for now I will use my mac book, so humdrum.

something fishy

Ashley got me this awesome camera for christmas.
I am working out the kinks of using a camera with film... only eight of the pictures on my first roll turned out.



I am an auntie times 10 and pretty much all the pictures I took were of the little rat finks. The ones that turned out i really love.



This one turned out best. back lighting= good picture. duh





probably my favorite part about taking these pictures was how none of the kids got it.
I went out back where they were already swinging. They saw my camera, they knew what was up, so they all stopped and posed for me. "Keep swinging" I tried to stop the picture perfect smiles they have been trained to give.
"Let me see the picture," my niece Emma asked after every shot. "No... this isn't that kind of camera" I think she thought I was messing with her...

She just looked at me like I would look at someone if they told me that their computer was the size of their spare bedroom, pong to a generation of wii players.

Elder Wirthlin passed away last night, what a great blessing his example was to us all. I am especially gratful for the amazing talk he gave last conference, his optimism was truly inspirational!
